The stage is set with a simple background, a couple of cameras and Jorgen Eghammer describing the new IKEA product.
“You know, once in a while, something comes along that changes the way we live. A device so simple and intuitive, using it feels almost familiar,” Jorgen says.
“Introducing the 2015 IKEA catalog. It’s not a digital book or an e-book. It’s a Bookbook.”
IKEA, the international Swedish assemble-it-yourself retailer, created a unique promotion that unveils its new annual catalog called the “Bookbook”; a clever parody of Apple’s digital-book marketing campaigns.
Jorgen continues by illustrating all the amazing “features” of the Bookbook, to include its full battery life (no need for a charging cable) and the 7.5-by-8-inch catalog “interface,” that can be expanded to 15 inches. Just open the catalog.
“Content comes pre-installed via 328 high-definition pages of inspiring home furnishing ideas. To start browsing, simply touch and grab—right to left to move forward, left to right to move backwards.”
As one YouTube commenter stated, “This IKEA ad for their new catalog is satirical genius. I actually wanted to get one.”
It’s IKEA’s pre-assembled catalog ready for delivery!
